Famous Pink Lipstick from MAC - Chatterbox and Pink Nouveau Swatches and Review

Today I would be featuring the 2 famous pink lipstick from MAC's permanent line. As you can see I am a big fan of MAC cosmetic.  I will be comparing Pink Nouveau - a blue based pink and Chatterbox - a warm based pink. Just a fact, the color pink can be based on yellow or blue. (You can check the color wheel for reference) Yellow based pinks produces warm pink, corals and peach while blue based pinks produces light pink, purple, and lilacs.

Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Shade # 3 Review

Oh hello! I was totally busy last week so I forgot to visit my blog. :( I'm going to review a foundation from Guerlain which is Lingerie De Peau (Invisible Skin-Fusion) Foundation, that's a really long name for a foundation. (aka Guerlian LDP) Haha! I got this foundation 2 weeks ago.. yeah I did hauled some new stuffs again. I'd been a loyal Revlon Colorstay user for 2 years now but I am looking for a sheer to medium foundation for everyday look so I decided to get this.

Guerlain - Lingerie De Peau Invisible Skin Fusion Foundation SPF 20
    What it is:
An invisible foundation that wears like a second skin.
    What it does:
This unbelievably silky formula creates a natural radiance that captures and reflects light to reveal the look of naturally perfect skin. Imperfections are erased and coverage lasts all day long.
Pretty Bottle! Guerlain Lingerie De Peau in Shade # 3
The huge luxurious bottle is an eye-candy and when I smelled it, I just have to buy it! It has very sweet floral smell! I can't really describe the smell but it smells sooo nice! :) For reference, I am NC20-25 for MAC and sometimes NC30.. what a weird skin! ahaha! Most of time I am NC25, some foundation tends to oxidize on me so I'm still searching for my HG liquid foundation. I'm not sure what do get so I tried a tiny portion of LDP on my jawline, shade#3 is a perfect match.

Left: Huge luxurious bottle of  Guerlain LDP and Right: Hand Swatches of Shade # 3 Beige Natural
The Good
  • It wears like second skin indeed
  • Very nice smell (unlike other foundation that smells like paint) :)
  • It has SPF 20
  • Very light on face, I don't feel like I'm wearing a foundation :D
  • No white cast - Looks pretty on Photos
  • Pretty Bottle!
The Bad
  • Huge Bottle - its heavy
  • It oxidize on me - I should have bought a lighter shade like Shade # 32 Ambre Clair (Asian exclusive shade from Guerlain) - I look really oily after 3 hours waaahh
  • Small pimples on my T-Zone area after a day of using this.. ugghh!
  • Not for very oily skin
  • Very few shade selection
  • Its expensive (3098 in Philippine peso)
Random Photos - Products used:
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Shade # 3 Beige Natural, MAC Crosswires and NARS Exhibit A
Random Photos for Guerlain LDP - taken from my IPAD 2 and Canon Ixus 220HS

Would I repurchase: No, but im itching to try Ambre Clair on testers perhaps? :(

Have you tried any product from Guerlain? Let me know your thoughts.

Something Sweet - Paul Calvin's Cream Puff

Photo taken last November 2010 by my sister's blurry digicam >.<
Quick Foodie!
Cream Puff by Paul Calvin's Bakerie

The first time I heard of Paul Calvin is from a blog post a few years back. Due to the my curiosity, I googled Paul Calvin and found that their HQ is just 10 minutes away from my place. Ever since we found this bakery we have been a frequent buyer since 2010. Paul Calvin is famous for the healthy breads like malunggay and potato bread.

Their Cream Puffs is my recent discovery :) See picture below

My favorite cream puff of all time! Very thick custard cream!
Why I love it?
  • Cheap (15 peso/small piece)
  • Thick custard cream
  • Not too sweet or bland - just right :)
  • The bread is soft.. unlike Beard's Papa bread :|
  • Sugar glazed on top
Paul Calvins' Deli (Restaurant) is located at the Fort Bonifacio Global City.
Unit F-111 Forbes Wood Heights, Fort Bonifacio, Philippines

Paul Calvin's Bakerie
Tanchoco Avenue, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, Philippines

If you know Sweet Harmony, a famous venue for weddings - you will find Paul Calvin's Bakerie there.

MAC Iris Apfel Lipsticks – Swatches and Review

Last February 1, 2012, MAC launched their Iris Apfel collection in our country. Many girls are waiting for the official date of launching to grab those lovely collection brought by Ms. Iris Apfel, a famous fashion icon known for her bright colored lips. I am one of those girls, haha. Luckily I was able to get the limited lipsticks from the collection. I love lipstick so I told myself that I will definitely have them! Hihihi but I didn’t get Morange since this is not a part of their limited collection and the colors is quite off on me.

MAC Iris Apfel - Flamingo, Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot and Scarlet Ibis

(taken from temptalia)There are four limited edition (and one permanent) shades of MAC Lipstick ($14.50 for 0.10 oz.) in the Iris Apfel collection: Flamingo (light milky bright coral), Morange (loudmouth orange), Party Parrot (bright red-pink), Pink Pigeon (bright cleanest pink), and Scarlet Ibis (bright orange-red).
  • Flamingo is a pink with a hint of coral that yields semi-opaque color coverage, which is more coverage than your average lustre finish gives. It has that natural-looking sheen that you’d expect from a lustre as well. This has a lustre finish. It’s lighter than MAC Blossom Culture. It’s less intense but close in hue compared to MAC Ever Hip. It’s similar to Guerlain Rose Desir.
  • Morange is a bright, medium orange with a subtle sheen to the finish and opaque color coverage. This has an amplified creme finish and is part of the permanent range. It’s similar to oranges like MAC Good to Go, MAC Neon Orange, and Illamasqua Flare.
  • Party Parrot is a neon medium-dark pink with a natural matte finish and opaque color coverage. This has a matte finish. VS Be Mine is less intense. Lancome Posh Pink is not quite as bright. OCC Queen is redder. MAC Scandelicious is similar but glossier. MAC Full Fuchsia is bluer-based. Tom Ford Pure Pink is a bit pinker.
  • Pink Pigeon is a bright magenta pink with a natural matte finish. It has opaque color coverage. This has a matte finish. Milani Rose Hip is brighter and pinker, MAC Florida is lighter, MAC Show Orchid is slightly pinker, MAC Candy Yum Yum is purpler and brighter, NARS Schiap is pinker, and MAC Love Forever is not as bright.
  • Scarlet Ibis is a reddened orange with a natural matte finish and full color coverage. This has a matte finish. It’s a little redder compared to Givenchy Candide Tangerine. It is similar to Giorgio Armani #405 with a matte finish. Estee Lauder Wild Fire is a touch lighter. Dolce & Gabbana Sheer is similar but a touch brighter.

MAC Iris Apfel Lipsticks - Flamingo, Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot and Scarlet Ibis - Swatches

MAC Iris Apfel Lipsticks - Flamingo, Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot and Scarlet Ibis - Swatches
Flamingo on a closer look~
The peachy coral color is an absolute winner but I'm not loving the finish since it is lustre and it does not stay long. One possible dupe is Ever Hip but it is also a limited edition lipstick. (Look, it emphasize all the imperfections on my lips...argghh, hate lustre! )
Pink Pigeon on a closer look~
The color reminds me of Nars Schiap and Candy Yum Yum. At first, I absolutely like this but I think the color is not unique. It has a matte finish but surprisingly it does not dry your lips compare to the old MAC matte formula such as Ruby Woo and Please Me.(for more swatches and possible dupe check this Pink Pigeon)
Party Parrot on a closer look~
I heard the Impassioned and Party Parrot are almost alike in terms of color playoff. This is a lovely color in a matte finish. Just like Pink Pigeon, this new matte formula does not dry your lips fast.
Scarlet Ibis on a closer look~
A orangey-red colored lipstick perfect for a red carpet occasion. A possible dupe for this lipstick is Lady Danger, also from MAC. Just like Pink Pigeon and Party Parrot, this new matte formula does not dry your lips fast. Its very pigmented and opaque.
Upon trying the Iris Apfel lipstick, sadly the only one that really worked for me is flamingo. All other colors makes me look older. :( I like Scarlet Ibis a lot but I can't wear it everyday so it is not practical keeping this.

Have you tried any of the Iris Apfel Lipstick Collection? Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog post~

MAC Pink Pigeon, Nars Schiap and MAC Girl About Town - Swatches

Its my first post this February so I decided to do swatches to compare some the lipstick I bought last January. I think I bought a lot last month.. around 15 or more maybe?.. yeah I know I quite an impulsive buyer and I usually get bored with some of my purchase so I sell them when I am not using it anymore. :D

I also got the 4 lipsticks from the Iris Apfel collection but I will not be featuring it today because I plan to create a new blog post for that. I will be comparing Pink Pigeon, Girl About Town and Schiap. If you have been following my blog, I bought MAC Girl About Town and Nars Schiap last January. Those two lippies are my first magenta/fuchsia colored lipsticks which is totally new to me. I'm hesitant trying them out since I prefer the no-makeup look. Initially I was going to compare Pink Pigeon and Schiap only but when I swatched Girl About Town on my hand.. I felt that I should include it here too. Check out the pictures below. :)

MAC Girl About Town, MAC Pink Pigeon and NARS Schiap

Taken from Temptalia

Girl About Town is a vibrant shade of darkened, bright fuchsia pink. It has an amplified creme finish, which makes it a very creamy, opaque shade.

Pink Pigeon is a bright magenta pink with a natural matte finish. It has opaque color coverage. This has a matte finish.

Schiap is a bright, fuchsia-pink with a semi-matte finish. It has no shimmer, but it does have a slightly glossy sheen, so it doesn’t a completely matte finish. Schiap applies beautifully–soft, smooth, and the color looks even with little effort.

Looking at my hand swatches, the 3 shades are almost the same but It is different when I applied it on my lips.
MAC Girl About Town, Pink Pigeon and Nars Schiap
All of those three lipstick are very pretty colors but sadly they aren't working for me. I felt bad because I really like the color but my friends does not like it on me. :( Maybe they just like my normal look wearing coral or pink lipstick all the time.

For those who didn't catch those birds from the Iris Apfel line, Schiap is the your next best thing for Pink Pigeon, Impassioned for Party Parrot, Lady Danger for Scarlet Ibis and a not so close to dupe to Flamingo is Ever Hip. On all three, I really like Pink Pigeon but I gave up on it because my aunt still think its too bright and not flattering for my face. Schiap tends to be so drying and dull on me so I already gave it away. Girl About Town on the other hand is too powerful on my face, I look older wearing this. I think these colors are not of the shy ones.. so that concludes that they are not for me. :(

Playing with Collage on IPAD 2 :) First Picture - Schiap, Second Picture - Vegas Volt and Last is Girl About Town ~ Vegas Volt suits me well, :)
Oh I forgot, I created a banner for a fellow blogger since she won my free design request
